Q. How long does this take?

We advise our cusomers that it may take 10 to 14 working days from the receipt of your tapes to process your order and return your tapes and DVDs. During this time we also wait for your payment to clear.
In the run up to the Christmas period we advise customers to allow more time due an increase in demand for our services plus an increase in demand on the postal service.

Q. What will the quality be like when my videos are transferred to DVD?

We use very high quality professional video readers and DVD recorders to transfer your footage from video to DVD. You can be assurred that your DVD footage will be as good quality as the original video footage.
If there are problems with the original recording (such as poor sound, or deteriorated picture quality due to age etc) then these will be transferred onto your DVD copy since this is a transfer only service.
Because we use the highest quality readers and recorders you will get the best possible quality from your video materials.

Q. I would like to use your service but I need lots of copies done. Do you have a cheaper rate for bulk copies?

Please contact us with details of your order and the desired quantity. We will be happy to advise you on the best price we can offer. We deal with these requests individually since most of our customers do not require bulk volumes of DVDs to be created.

Q. Will my DVD player be able to read the DVD you create for me?

We create DVDs in the DVD-R format, which is read by almost all DVD players. Some very early players may not read this format, but this is extremely rare and limited to a small set of first generation DVD players.

Q. How safe are my videos when I send them to you?

We advise you to use a recorded delivery service when sending your tapes to us, and to safely wrap each video tape separately within the package that you send us. (We will also do the same when we return your tapes).
Whilst in our posession your tapes will be treated with care and respect in a clean, secure, smoke free and safe environment.
It is imperative that you label your tapes clearly, as specified on our order form. This will assist us in safely and efficiently processing your order.

Q. I've got some video that I want to be transferred to DVD, but it's in a format that you don't mention. Can you transfer this for me?

Please contact us with details of your format and we will be happy to help you if we can.

Q. Do you transfer Cine film onto DVD?

At the moment we do not have the facility to transfer Cine film to DVD, but we are currently investigating this capability. Please contact us for further details if you have specific questions about Cine film transfer.

Q. Will I get chapters in my DVD so that I can skip forward and backwards like I would with a Hollywood DVD?

Yes - we automatically create a chapter every 10 minutes throughout the DVD. These chapters are shown on the initial menu page for the DVD, with a still picture from that time being shown for each chapter.

Q. Can I ask for you to only transfer part of my video?

Yes - please use the "special instructions" section of the order form to tell us which part of the video you would like to copy using hh:mm:ss (hours, minutes, seconds) format, for example: "Please copy only from 00:12:34 to 01:03:00 on video 3".
We will then copy that video section exactly as specified to the nearest second. There is an extra cost for this service, please contact us if you wish to do this.

Q. What will my DVD look like when it is done?

The DVDs you will receive will be on a plain white printable DVD disc.

Q. What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by cheque or postal order only. Please make cheques payable to "Video-tek" and enclose the cheque or postal order with your video(s) and order form.

Q. How should I package my tapes when I send them to you?

Your tapes should be well packaged to avoid damage whilst in transit. We advise customers to use bubble wrap or similar, and to wrap each video separately within the package. We cannot be held responsible for damage to your videos whilst in transit to us and it is imperative that you package your videos to avoid damage.
Please note that we will thoroughly package each of your videos using bubble wrap when returning them to you using our recorded delivery service.

Q. I want the DVDs sent outside the UK, do you do this?

At this point in time we are only supporting orders within the United Kingdom. If you have a specific requirement for DVDs to be sent abroad please contact us and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
